Today I will be showcasing the Hawthorn tree. The Hawthorn tree or Crataegus monogyna, is a deciduous tree that bears a small un-edible fruit. Some days robins will sit on the branches and eat the small red fruit all day. The hawthorn has small thorns on the smaller of its branches. -BD
I decided to talk about the plants and their current state. As seen here, on this parsley, orPetroselinum crispum, the plants are leafless and look lifeless. This makes me wonder, when do the plants start to be alive again? This post I am talking about the domestic shorthair cat or Felis catus. They are domesticated animals that are common house pet in the U.S. This week Widget, the shorthair tabby in the picture below, is the cat I am basing this post off of. Cat’s have been used as pets since the time of the egyptians. The saying “curiosity killed the cat” comes from there inquisitive nature.
BD The Eastern yellow pine tree, or pinus ponderosa,Is the most commonly used christmas tree in North America. This photo is of an eastern pine with lights on it. This makes me wonder how many trees are cut down each year for christmas alone? It also made me wonder what impact this has on the environment? AJ
I have swam with Dolphins or Tursiops truncatus They are soft and feel very rubbery and feel sort of like being pulled along by a large beach ball. Dolphins are the 2nd most intelligent animals in the world after humans. They are believed to be able to talk to each other in a language of clicks and they play games together.
-NS More news on treesRecently I noticed that almost all the leaves were gone from the trees, and specifically the ethe acer rebrum, or red maple, and that there were very few leaves anywhere but the ground. THis made me wonder if this is affecting the migration of birds? I also wondered if this did anything to hibernation? AJ

Ivy or Hedera Is a climbing plant native to Russia and Eurasia but has been introduced to North America and Australia. Ivy can climb up to 30 meters above the ground on easily climbable surfaces. Some Ivy berries are mildly toxic to humans. Ivy is an invasive species and occasionally will stop farms because it has covered all the crops.
-NS This afternoon, I went outside to take the picture of my pine tree for my pine tree post and saw these neat little birds. I am pretty sure they are the american tree sparrow or Spizelloides arborea. The american tree sparrow is a very common bird to see, but it is unlikely you would see a nest in your backyard. They are small birds and have brown feathers dotted with grey, white and other shades of brown. Sorry about the quality of the photo. BD
